Culture Night Belfast

The MBR is participating again in Culture Night Belfast (www.culturenightbelfast.com) which takes place this year on Friday 24th September. The public room will be open from 9:30am to 9:30pm. In addition to the events below, we will also have a small exhibition on the Archaeology and History of the Cathedral Quarter in the MBR and will be projecting Built Heritage images on the gable wall of Waterman House from 6:00pm onwards.
Public Lectures
1:00 to 2:00pm Terence Reeves-Smyth, NIEA, A Land on the Edge of Time: The Fortified Saxon Churches, Villages and Landscapes of Transylvania
6:00 to 7:00pm. Thomas McErlean, Centre for Maritime Archaeology Coleraine, Maritime Archaeology in Northern Ireland: The Last Frontier.

Hats off to Heritage Childrens Workshop
UAHS, supported by NIEA, offers workshops for children in the MBR from 4:00 to 5:30pm and from 7:30 to 8:30pm. Come along and make your own heritage hat based on St Annes Cathedral!
There are 4 workshops on offer (4:00 to 4:45pm; 4:45 to 5:30pm; 7:30 to 8:00pm; and 8:00 to 8:30pm).

Cultural Tours
Free half hour cultural tours of the Cathedral Quarter, led by Ruairi OBaoill and Jim ONeill. The tours leave from the MBR at 2:30pm, 5:15pm, and 8:00pm.
