Friends of Down County Council Archaeology Club
Archaeological Fieldwalk

Sat 27th March 2010, Ballynoe Stone Circle

We have the chance to search for artefacts such as flints, near the site of Ballynoe Stone Circle. We will be marking out the field in to 20m squares and collecting artefacts in bags from the ploughed field. It will be very muddy! Wellingtons and raingear are essential, plus wipes for dirty hands. There are no toilets on site.

We will meet at the entrance to the path leading to the Stone Circle at 10.00 am. The field we will walk is to the left of the Circle, accessed through a gate in left-hand fence in the Circle field. Parking will be signposted in the field just before the path entrance.

For those who are joining the Friends for the first time to get involved in the Club, please can you complete the enclosed Membership form along with £15.00 which will go towards our future projects. It is important that everyone taking part is a member of the Friends. We hope to apply for funding through the Friends to develop projects in the future.

We will organise a date for our first meeting of the group to discuss future projects, when we meet for the Fieldwalk on 27 March.

10am - 1pm
