Archaeology Project

Fri 1st June 2012, Downhill Demesne and Hezlett House

Volunteers are welcome to take part in an archaeological investigations of he Bishop’s Palace, Downhill.  Work is mainly excavation using hand tools to remove soil and rubble, extract artefacts and help record finds.

Professional archaeologists will be on site to provide training and guidance.  Children welcome but must be accompanied by a parent who registers as an adult volunteer.

The project will last for 6 weeks.
